Global Risks Report 2022: Perceptions of risk in a world of change

The World Economic Forum Global Risks Report 2022 just released in partnership with Zurich looks into prevailing risk perceptions across 124 economies. In the UAE, infectious diseases, debt crises in large economies and employment and livelihood crises rank among the top perceived risks as we enter the third year of the pandemic. The Middle East region has undergone dramatic transformation over the last decade, consistently adapting to change, boldly identifying emerging issues and proactively tackling rising global risks. A forward-thinking approach coupled with increased reliance on technology and digital innovation will be key in tackling both macro and micro-level risks over the next 10 years. Finally, it’s important to remember that only by identifying these risks can we address and ultimately mitigate them.
