Zurich Target Dated Funds

Got an important date in mind? Whatever your target date, we have a fund for you.

One of the principles of investing is that the younger you are, the more risk you can take, while as you get older, it’s a good idea to shift to more conservative investments. Zurich Target Date Funds do this - automatically.

They are a ‘single choice, single fund’ investment solution that combines the global strength and experience of Zurich with the independent investment expertise of Morningstar Investment Management.

Why choose Zurich Target Dated Funds?

Zurich Target Dated Funds allow you to choose a fund linked to your proposed target date, while remaining in the same fund throughout your investment journey. The level of investment risk gradually and automatically decreases as you approach your target date.

This simple investment process provides an automated solution that helps you navigate some of the common challenges associated with long-term saving.

In the beginning, we'll invest your money predominantly in higher-risk, higher-return assets such as equities to make the most of time and compounding interest. Then, around 25 years from the fund's target date, we'll start to move the portfolio towards lower-risk investments such as bonds.

Why do we take this approach?

As you approach your target date, your contributions and the power of markets and compound interest should have done a lot of the work in growing your investment. But as you move closer to your target date, you're more likely to be interested in preserving your investment rather than growing it aggressively.

Choosing your fund is easy. Each fund has a year in its name and this is the date at which you need your money. You simply choose the fund that most closely matches your target date.

Because you invest alongside others with similar goals, you benefit from the scale and efficiency of a pooled investment and the lower charges that come with it.
