Almost every football fan has a ritual they follow before the big game, be it crossing oneself, wearing a lucky outfit or sitting in a certain position! No matter how peculiar or funny it is, we hold on to those rituals to bring that extra bit of luck to our favourite team. Some people may call it superstition or think it’s strange, but we at Zurich understand your passion for the sport and your drive to win - and we want to reward you for your passion!
We invite you to post a story of your game-changing ritual with us. Tag us in a picture or a short video of your traditional pre-game ritual to enter an exciting contest and win fantastic prizes.
In addition to Manchester City merchandise, each winner will get a chance to train with the Manchester City Football Education team in the UAE. Winners will train with an existing youth football school program in Dubai or Abu Dhabi in a 10 week long program. All kids between ages 3 to 16 can qualify. Click here to read the contest rules.
Zurich Middle East is proud to announce a global partnership with Manchester City Football Club. Manchester City is one of the foremost English Premier League Clubs. Founded in 1880 as St Mark’s West Gorton. It officially became Manchester City FC in 1894 and has since then gone onto win the European Cup Winners’ Cup, six League Championship titles, including four Premier League titles (2012, 2014, 2018, 2019), and six FA Cups.
A first of its kind in the region, the partnership builds on Zurich’s long-standing commitment to inspiring and empowering the next generation of young talent to build brighter futures, bringing people together through their passion for sports.
Nurturing a sense of community, we look forward to engaging fans and enthusiasts both on and off the pitch. This will involve a range of fun and exciting competitions based on e-sports, including an e-gaming tournament between Manchester City fans, casual gamers and other e-gaming fanatics with several prizes to be won.
The new partnership builds on Zurich’s previous sporting relationships within cricket and golf, as well as the recently announced partnership with Mumbai City FC, through which they became the Club’s Official Insurance Partner in India and the UAE.
Zurich Middle East is the proud sponsor of Mumbai City FC in India and the UAE. Mumbai City FC is Mumbai’s club in the Indian Super League, India’s top football league, and the team crest serves as a reflection of the city’s identity. The fortress wall at the top signifies the resilient, determined spirit of the city and its people. Seven stars symbolise the islands that make up Mumbai, giving the club its apt nickname ‘the Islanders’, while a train represents the very lifeline of the city. Each passenger, each citizen, is bound together by their love for the place they call home. 20 million citizens, 20 million hearts pulse to a single beat – the heartbeat of Mumbai.
Fans of Mumbai City FC will see the Zurich logo adorn the pendant of Mumbai City team shirts throughout the coming season as the Islanders fight for the ISL title in Goa. The sponsorship will also see the brand logo integrated within the match day experience at the Bambolim Stadium, at the team’s training facility at the Nagoa Village Panchayat Football Ground and across the club’s social media channels.
At Zurich Middle East, we are passionate about nurturing young talent and encouraging a healthy lifestyle, as part of our commitment to empowering our customers to be ready for life. Nothing brings communities together like sports, and the Indian community is one that is particularly close to our hearts. The sponsorship agreement with Mumbai City FC is thus perfectly aligned with our mission as we stay committed to creating a brighter future for and together with our customers.
Speaking on the partnership with Zurich, Bimal Parekh, co-owner of Mumbai City FC, said:
“We are delighted that Zurich International Life will be extending their support to Mumbai City FC as the Club’s Insurance Partner. Zurich continuously show their passion and commitment to sport and we look forward to having their support towards football and Mumbai City in this unique season ahead of us.”
