A match of spins and swings

With over 2.5 billion fans across the globe including those living in the Middle East, Cricket is a game of endurance, discipline and focus. It requires dexterity, alertness and exceptionally good reflexes to succeed. Like any sport, it promotes proper nutrition and high levels of fitness. As advocates of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as an essential part of being Ready For Life, we are proud to support Cricket, one of the world’s most loved sports.

We wholeheartedly encourage our community to get involved with this awe-inspiring game through our local cricket sponsorships. The brand new Cricket Pace Lab is an exciting program for youngsters aspiring to become the next fast bowling sensation and our increasingly popular annual corporate tournament Zurich Cricket Sixes brings together the best teams in the region for a day of hyper competitive cricketing action.

Cricket pace lab

To nurture young cricketing talent in the UAE, we’re giving 40 young fast bowlers across the country a once in a lifetime opportunity to get an exclusive all-day pass to train with one of the best fast-bowling coaches in the world – Steffan Jones.

During this pace lab on Friday 26th July 2019, Steffan will profile and assess each player’s strengths and weaknesses. He will then conduct a number of training exercises throughout the day focusing on the approach, jump and throw aspects of fast bowling. Working with each participant on skill and stability exercises as well as with weighted and medicine ball techniques, Stefan will help these fast bowlers to pick up the pace in their game. At the end of the lab, Steffan will run a competition to determine and then crown the 2019 Zurich Fast Bowler of the Year.

Watch as Steffan announces the upcoming Cricket Pace Lab in Dubai.

Zurich Cricket Sixes

In 2018, we launched our Zurich Cricket Sixes Tournament, a corporate sporting event designed to unite businesses and individuals through our shared love of the game. The first of its kind here in the Middle East, our competition followed the fast paced and exciting format of the Hong Kong 6s

This six-a-side tournament comprised 12 corporate teams who played off against each other through the course of a single day to be declared the Zurich Cricket Sixes champion for 2018. The short game format of the sixes encouraged intense batting and high scoring which delighted and entertained cricketing enthusiasts in our community and made for a spectacular day of viewing.

Even though all teams proved to be worthy opponents, the Emirates team were crowned tournament winners by international spin sensation and our special guest, Ravichandra Ashwin.
